Reel Juice
Join us for a journey blending filmmaking and apple harvesting over 2 autumn Saturdays. Learn how to think and see the world like a filmmaker and practice some of the skills as we pick and press our own juicy apples.
Sat 21st 12:40-15:50- make your own introductory mini-film as we pick apples and hunt down an autumn harvest at Kilchattan.
Sat 28th 10:40-15:50- spend the day working with professional filmmakers hands on with cameras, lights and sound equipment as we co-create a short film together while pressing apples and pressing some delicious fresh apple juice.
IMPORTANT NOTE: On the 28th the film makers will be producing 2 films.
The first will involve filming mini interviews with the children in the course of teaching them about film making. This is a project with one of our funders seeking to promote good practice in children’s work and the film will be shared with other organisations working with children and young people.
The other film will focus on the picking and pressing of apples and the children’s experience of it. This film is for Achievement Bute and will be shared on our social media and Youtube.
The funders require a specific consent form for children participating in this activity. Ideally all children will be involved in all aspects of production and can still take part even if you/they do not wish to appear (visually or by voice) in either film. You can download and view the consent form below and if you sign up for the activity please complete it and send it (or any questions you have) to peter.atkins@achievementbute.org
