Young Volunteer Programme

Every year, Achievement Bute offers young people aged 14-18 the opportunity to volunteer at our children’s activities. Volunteering is an excellent way for young people to contribute to the community in a way which is both enjoyable and rewarding. Volunteering can help young people form new friendships, build self-confidence and gain valuable skills such as good communication, teamwork, time management, organisation, creativity and many more! All of these skills are beneficial for young people’s personal development and employability.

Volunteers can choose the activities that suit them best, and can do as many or as few hours as they wish. We need volunteers to help with our den-building and other play weeks in the summer holidays; our after-school art and Lego clubs; our performance-based projects including helping with drama, music, technical “behind the scenes” activities including lighting, sound and filming.

Prepare For Your Future

Many colleges, universities and employers look for young people who have done some volunteering, so it can be a valuable addition to your CV, especially if you want to go on to work with children, or in creative and other caring professions.

So, if you are interested in helping others, want to have fun during your school holidays and want to add valuable experience to your CV, then why not apply to become a young volunteer with Achievement Bute.

We provide training, support, and regular mentoring. We also cover your expenses and provide reward activities chosen by the volunteers themselves. Our volunteers are also entered for the Saltire Awards Scheme, and, if desired, the volunteering hours can be used to contribute to the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme.
