In the third of our series of Pop-up Playdays, families can simply turn up on the day, bring your buckets and spades and a picnic and enjoy an afternoon of old-fashioned fun and games at the beach led by the Achievement Bute Team. This is a FREE event, for which we are not taking bookings, just come along and join in the fun! Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Explore Mount Stuart’s fascinating collection of comics and use your imagination to create your very own comic creation. The morning workshop is aimed at children age 5-7 and the afternoon workshop is for children age 8-12. Cost £5 per child.

Dress like a pirate, talk like a pirate, and hunt for treasure like a pirate in our swashbuckling interactive music workshops led by ace accordionist Neil Sutcliffe, from Live Music Now! Workshops take place in our base at the Discovery Centre from 10:00-12:00noon for children age 5-7 and from 1-3pm for children age 8-12. The cost is £5 and a healthy snack will be provided.

Did you know that we have a genuine World War Two military bunker on the isle of Bute!? Join us and Woodland Ranger Samuel as we journey over hills and through Bute’s ancient woodlands to discover some concrete history. This outdoor adventure is aimed at children aged 7–12 years old and will require children to be dropped off at Guildford Square at 11:30am with a drink and packed lunch and picked up at Guildford Square at 3:45pm and will cost £5.

We call all young inventors and innovators to join us for eight weeks of fun creative sessions, in which we will create mini models for new means of transport inspired by famous inventions. We will use and experiment with a variety of materials and turn them into exciting innovations and innovations!

Creative children age 5-11 can join our Artmakers groups on Thursdays to help us design and create a unique exhibition of children’s art to be on display at the Discovery Centre in the summer.

Join our afterschool groups every Wednesday and have fun experimenting with lego.
